  • Use the tag #subobi week so that your works can be easily found and reblogged for all to enjoy!
  • You do not have to have a Tumblr blog to participate. You can share links to your work on our Discord or send this blog an anon ask telling us how to find it, and an admin will make a post for you linking to your piece. (We will also be watching that tag on AO3 as well)
  • You do not have to do every single prompt to participate.
  • Don’t worry about being a little late on posting. We’re understanding that life is a busy thing, and this event is for fun.
  • Your work doesn’t have to be NSFW though most prompts do lean towards it.
  • Remember this is SubObi week, so let’s keep him the submissive one.

If you’re like me, you’ve been waiting for this moment since, oh, probably May 10th.

Sign-ups for SWBB 2019 are now open and this year we’re using a fancy new Google Form to get everyone situated.  You can find that here:  https://goo.gl/forms/gjOxoMCPxZ0hzK4y2.  Author sign-ups close December 29th.

Dates (and hopefully a FAQ!) are coming soon; your mod got caught up preparing for NaNoWriMo and November snuck up out of nowhere.  Such is life.

Yuletide 2018 Nominations

I haven’t seen much signal boosting about Yuletide this year, so here’s a brief reminder that nomination of eligible fandoms closes on
Friday, September 21, 2018 at 9AM

UTC (that’s 5AM ET)! (or see the countdown)

Basic facts and links:

  • Yuletide is a rare fandoms fic exchange. Most small fandoms
    are eligible
    if they have less than 1000 stories combined from AO3 and FF.net; if you’re close to the line or not sure, or your fandom is a weird subset of a larger fandom and it’s confusing, the in-depth rules are here and the FAQ is here. The rules can seem intimidating because there are a lot of contingencies built up from years of people fighting over what counts as ‘rare’, but mods are always happy to answer questions.
  • Nominations can be made (with an AO3 account) here. It’s generally considered best and polite to nominate fandoms you plan to actually write or request this year, and not just stuff you want to read, but you don’t have to participate in order to nominate.
  • If you have more fandoms/characters you want to nominate than slots in the form, check this spreadsheet of submitted noms – it’s not a complete list by any means, since I think most people don’t remember that someone makes one every year, but it can help you prioritize. Or if you have extra space, you can put in something from one of the wishlists. Please remember to submit your own list after nominating to help others!
  • Know where to get updates when signups start on October 10th:

Free Day

I took two from each year this has been going on! It has actually been running for three years my mistake. I thought it was only two years. I added free day at the end since we don’t have time to vote and I want to make sure everyone has a chance to write at least one thing they really love!

Explanations for each prompt.

Regret- This is pretty clear I think. Anything Obi-Wan or Satine may have regretted or anything else related to both the feeling of regret and Obitine. (Perhaps a bad guy “regrets” crossing them if you’re looking for a happier story. Or there’s the good old angst we Obitines are known for.)

What Could Have Been- Also known as the AU prompt. Any story that doesn’t quite fit into what we know of canon. Whether it’s Star Wars setting and simply different choices were made or whether it’s a completely different universe, anything goes.

Young Love- Ah, young dumb teens (or young adults depending on your head canon of the famous Mandalore mission) in love! Young love is sweet, often annoying, and especially with these two, likely to be a drama fest! Time to use your headcanons and make these two crazy kids fall in love or have a good time!

Dreams/Nightmares- Pretty vague, open to interpretation. Can of course go either fluffy or angsty with this one. Something to do with the strange things our brains do when we’re sleeping.

Family/Friends- Bring in the whole gang with this one! Padme, Anakin, Bo-Katan, Korkie, Qui-Gon, anyone you want! Any of them or only one of those people. What do they know of this relationship, if anything? And what do they think about it?

Numbers- (Actually my way of combining a few different prompts) Any event they experienced that is significant because of the number of times it has happened! Maybe it’s never! A first kiss, a first date, a first time. Or maybe it’s a second chance to make things work! Hey you could do anything with numbers and it will count! You want to make them celebrate their tenth anniversary? You are valid and it will count.

Free Day- It’s a free day! Write anything you want! If it makes you happy it’s fair game! You can also reuse any prompts from earlier years you really liked.

I made most of these purposely open so that there’s guidance and theme but still plenty of space to make this week your own! Since we didn’t have time to vote on prompts this year I thought making them vague would be best.

F*ckYeahDarcyLewis – Smut Week – A Darcyland schmexy times Challenge

When: From  Monday september 10  to  Sunday september 16  2018.

What:  Hello, Darcylanders! I’m happy to officially announce a new challenge with the summer almost done and looming responsibilities coming through, it makes a smut week the ideal way to blow off some steam. Each day will have a different prompt. It’s up to you to create something and post it to your blog. Your work can be classified as general, without any ship but it can, of course, contain whatever ship you want. As usual, we multiship in this fandom! But remember, the goal is to create something about Darcy.

For this challenge, you can draw, write, GIF, edit, mood board, whatever suits your fancy, your fave on schmexy times mode! 

How:  Make sure to tag your contributions with “darcy lewis” (it needs to be on your first 5 tags for it to be found). Don’t repost somebody else works, put triggers warning on your posts if it needs to be done, put the NSFW part or too long works under a cut. Don’t bash other characters.

The Return of Star Wars Rare Pairs Exchange

Hey, all! It’s just about that time of year again, but I just wanted to give everyone a heads-up on the schedule for this year’s exchange. Once it gets a little closer, I will nail down the specific times.
