okay so i had been spoilered all to hell already about captain america
but
i had assumed it was like other marvel stuff, where falcon is a shield agent, and that “on your left” came out of some kind of shield exercise thing
BUT NO
IT WAS LITERALLY JUST STEVE ROGERS FUCKING WITH A STRANGER
HE JUST THOUGHT IT WOULD BE FUNNY TO FUCK WITH A DUDE HE DIDN’T EVEN KNOW
HOW OFTEN DOES HE DO THAT
is steve rogers just fucking with people constantly bill murray style
does he steal french fries from strangers and tell them no one will ever believe them
does he lift cars when only small children are looking
did steve realize that captain america had a bizarrely wholesome reputation and use it as a way to prank people blamelessly
Yes. Obviously.

Notice how this is only the second time that Sam and Steve are meeting. In which, Steve visits Sam in his place of work because Sam – a casual runner he met on his jogging path invites him. This scene is so significant because, Steve Rogers has been shown to be pretty closed off and trusts no one at this point. Since he’s lost everyone he loves, he’s been having a really hard time adjusting back into the world. And he just meets Sam and there’s something so charming about Sam Wilson that Steve Rogers can’t help but trust him the moment they meet.
Not only that, media has shown us that relationships/friendships between male characters are generally always portrayed with too much testosterone or frat boy culture. But not Sam and Steve. Steve genuinely cares if Sam is okay. Sam genuinely cares if Steve is okay. This is their second meeting and both men are asking each other if they’re happy with their lives and making each other smile. And it’s so pure.
The friendship/relationship between Sam and Steve is often overlooked/overshadowed by Bucky and Steve’s friendship, but don’t sleep on them. Sam and Steve are just as significant as Steve and Bucky & Steve and Nat.
make me choose → @cindy-moons asked: Natasha Romanoff or Valkyrie
Wait, what, that’s a choice?
I need more people to realize just how fucking #iconic that top scene is. I imagine Taika Waititi deliberately walking Tessa Thomson through the scene like “Have you ever pegged someone before? Because you’re about to peg this whole fucking movie.”
The universe hasn’t seen this marvel since before my watch began. Few can sense it. Even fewer can see it. But while its effects can be dangerous, it is truly beautiful.
#THE ONLY FUNCTIONING GOVERNMENT BODY ASGARD HAS EVER HAD#*THOR VOICE* AND WHAT A BODY THAT IS!
#unmodified human dropkicking a helicopter
#recall that this is also the dude who took a knife to a gunfight and came away with a big goddamn gun
Actual falcons hunt by dropping down and literally kicking their target in one shot.
He literally falcon punched a fucking helicopter
My favorite Ragnarok headcanon is that the entire movie is a story Thor is telling the audience. That’s why it opens with a monologue, that’s also the reason of the sudden tone shift into comedy and that’s why despite all the horrible things that happen, it’s so endlessly optimistic. The real events that transpired were probably very similar, just much, much darker.
This really explains so much, like how characters like Loki and Hulk, and Thor himself, are so different from the other films- because we’re seeing them through Thor’s eyes. The dialogue is different as well, much more casual and shorthand with use of slang in place of the typical Shakespearean lines, because Thor is paraphrasing in his retelling of the events. I like to imagine that Thor’s audience is actually the asgardians on the ark at the end of the film, mostly families and children, so he’s ramping up the goofiness and drama (you are now meeting the grandmaster, please dont cut my hair, get help), using childish humor (the naked hulk), and poking fun at everything (surtur’s big eyebrow). They were all just extremely traumatized, so Thor is taking care of his people in the only way he currently can- taking comedy theatre tips from loki.
Headcanon accept so much I’m probably gonna forget it’s not canon
Sakaar seemed like the best place to drink, and to forget, and to die. One day. But I don’t wanna forget. Can’t turn away any more.
