THIS IS A LIFE SAVER

One of my fav reference sources!

Oh… I’m gonna use these.

ihni:

Have I told you guys lately how much I love books on demand? Because while I’ve been printing off my favourite fanfics for quite a while and making them into booklets (I have SO MANY now and I LOVE them), it’s been difficult to print the LONGER ones.

Enter BOOKS ON DEMAND. I have now printed off a few of my longer alltime favourite fanfics into ACTUAL BOOKS – that I can hold, and read even if the power is out or the wifi is down.

(Yes, I ask permission first …)

This is the TWELFTH book I’ve printed so far, and it’s Upside Down You’re Turning Me by heartwinmakethman (also known as @aphroditestummyrolls <3) and it’s going to look absolutely GORGEOUS in my bookcase.

There you go. Books on demand. Check it out, love it, do it. It’s cheap, it’s pretty easy (once you’ve learned how to make Word documents into pdfs), and it’s totally worth it.

Mexico City’s Day of the Dead parade 2018 – in pictures

sartorialadventure:

It is the third time a parade like this has been held in the city.

The first Day of the Dead parade in Mexico City took place in 2016. It was inspired by the opening sequence of the James Bond film Spectre, which features a similar event in the city.

This year’s event is in memory of Mexican refugees who died as they attempted to travel to the US.

To give you a little background :

  • Ryan Coogler actually started college on a football scholarship and not as a film student.
  • He and his teammates were encouraged to take a creative writing course. So he did it and one of his teacher praised his work and encouraged him to pursue writing.
  • He then decided to take film classes while continuing football.
  • He majored in finance and after his graduation went to USC Film School where he started to make short films.
  • During the first semester, he lived in his car.
  • While in USC Film School his short films were nominated for various awards.
  • In 2011 he started to write his first feature film Fruitvale station which
tells the story of the last 24 hours of the life of Oscar Grant, who was shot to death by a police officer at Oakland’s Fruitvale BART station on January 1, 2009.
  • The film was produced by Forest Whitaker.
  • The budget of the film was 900 000 $ and it ended up grossing 17 millions dollars worldwide. He won the top prize at the Sundance film festival and the ‘Best first film’ at the Cannes film festival.
  • In 2013, MGM offered him to direct Creed, a spin-off-sequel of the Rocky franchise.Ryan Coogler co-wrote this film with Aaron Covington based on his experience with his father who is a Rocky fan and suffered from a neuromuscular disorder.
  • He said that making this film was deeply personal and he finds it difficult to watch.
  • The film grossed 173,6 millions dollars on a 40 millions dollars budget.
  • Stallone was nominated for an Academy award for best supporting actor.
  • In 2016, Ryan Coogler signed to co-wrote and direct Marvel Black panther, making him the youngest person to direct a Marvel movie (he was 30).
  • He went to countries such as South Africa, Lesotho, Rwanda and Kenya to do some research for the movie.
  • Black panther was released in February 2018 and earned the fifth largest opening weekend box-office results of all-time,as well as the second highest four-day gross in history. It eventually became the third highest grossing film at the US box-office beating James Cameron’s Titanic and the highest grossing film in history directed by an African American with 1.3 billion worldwide.
